Carp Fishing PVA Tape & String
PVA (Polyvinyl Alcohol) tape and string are indispensable tools for any carp angler. Made from a material that completely dissolves in water, they leave behind nothing but your perfectly presented hookbait.

Incredibly versatile, PVA tape is used to create compact "PVA bags" or "PVA sticks" by wrapping loose bait, like pellets or crushed boilies, around your hookbait. PVA tape is also great for securing your rigs and hookbaits during casting to prevent tangles. For instance, you can lightly bind your hook to the lead or a pop-up hookbait to ensure your rig flies straight and true. As soon as it hits the water, the tape dissolves, releasing your rig exactly where you intended. It's also perfect for securely tying off PVA bags or mesh and can be used to make stringers.

PVA string is primarily used for creating boilie stringers. You simply thread multiple boilies or other hard baits onto the string, then tie it directly to your hook or hooklink. When cast, the string holds the baits in a neat, linear formation, preventing them from scattering prematurely and ensuring they land close to your hookbait. Once submerged, the PVA string dissolves, allowing the individual baits to spread out naturally around your hook, creating an inviting trail or cluster to attract fish. Like PVA tape, it can also be used to tie the end of PVA bags or mesh systems.
